Quick Weight Loss Plan

By David K. Snyder Everyone in our society today wants everything fast. Fast food, fast shopping, get in quickly and get to our next scheduled event. That may be taking the kids to practice, to their friend’s house, to the library to study, or just getting ourselves home from work. Our society has become a very fast-paced and an immediate reward oriented place to live. We no longer have the patience nor the time to accept life and a slow pace. Those of us who need to lose weight want to do so immediately. Let us look at how we gain the weight. It was over a long period of time with a lot of food intake, poor health habits, and lack of exercise. So how can we expect to lose the weight immediately. If we lose the weight quickly is it good for us? The answer that question is probably not. As we diet and lose weight quickly with a low calorie count our body consumes itself. An example would be Sally has decided to lose weight. She decided to do it quickly by reducing her calorie count to 800 cal per day. The diet worked by giving her quick weight loss however the weight she loses will be 60% lean body mass. What this means is that she may well gain the weight back rapidly. You ask why? Lean body mass or muscle uses roughly 70 cal per pound while fat uses approximately 10 cal per pound. When you lose weight rapidly approximately 60% of the weight is lean body mass. So when Sally loses 10 pounds roughly 6 pounds is lean body mass which means when she resumes her normal diet she will need 420 cal less than she did previously. Since it takes 3500 cal to gain 1 pound if Sally resumes her previous diet she will game 1 pound of weight every eight days. So her quick weight loss is soon destroyed by her previous eating habits even though that was her previous weight maintenance diet. Instead losing weight rapidly we should be patient and lose weight over a period of time by reducing calories and increasing exercise. Increase in exercise will increase our lean body mass and in turn will increase her calorie consumption. This will help us attain and maintain our goal weight more easily and more safely. Remember you did not gain the weight rapidly nor should you lose it rapidly. As I’ve shown above rapid weight loss may only lead to a new increase in weight back to your previous weight or greater weight. This only defeats us in attempting to attain our goal of a healthy and maintainable weight-loss. David Snyder is an RN who is looking at the weight loss epidemic facing society. Wedding Gowns - Getting the Best Out of Your Photographs

By Elsie Gilbert One of the most important things to any bride is the wedding photography that captures the magical day, for years to come. Most wedding gowns are made to make the bride look absolutely stunning; however, not all wedding gowns photograph as well as they should, so it is important to consider what your short listed wedding gowns will actually look like, in the photographs. Wedding Gowns and the Accessories that Make Photographs Special The types of wedding gowns that will look best in your wedding photographs depend largely on the style of wedding photographs that you have chosen. If you are opting for the contemporary style of photographs that are not staged but actually follow the day, on a more informal basis, then you need to be aware that your choice of wedding gowns will be viewed from every angle. On the other hand, if you are opting for a small selection of formal photographs purely from the front, then your choice of wedding gowns should focus on the detail at the front of the dress. If you have chosen to have only black and white photographs, it is worth considering what your chosen colors of wedding gowns will look like in monochrome. Top Photography Hints for Wedding Gowns Never forget how important the detail on the back of wedding gowns is. During the ceremony, your guests will have little to look at other than the back of your wedding gown. Therefore, it is important that all wedding gowns have some special detail and unique look; it is also a great opportunity for the wedding photographer and a picture from the back of the ceremony venue can be stunning! Bear in mind that accessories can look a little strange in wedding photographs so it may be worth investing in accessories that are detachable from wedding gowns, so that you can choose whether to have them in a given photograph or not. This is a really good idea when the accessory is particularly detailed as it may be superb as part of a close-up picture, however, it may just look like a stain from a distance! Another good idea is to have a cardigan or jacket as an accessory for your choice of wedding gowns. This way you can vary the photographs and the look that you present, throughout the day. Wedding photographs can appear a little repetitive; therefore it is a great idea to have a range of accessories and additions so that you can vary the photographs and make it look like you had several wedding gowns and not just the one! Remember, your choice of wedding gown is going to be captured in your photographs for years to come. When you are choosing your perfect dress, consider its photograph ability as well as what it will look like in the flesh they are both equally important! Elsie Gilbert offers great insights to all different types of wedding ceremonies, wedding styles, wedding accessories. From traditional to the exotic she makes it easy for the bride and groom to review and choose. Food and Athletes

By Mags M Cakes, pies, cookies, gravy, stuffing, cakes, pies, candy, cakes, did I mention cakes? Ah, the joy of Christmas! It’s drawing closer by the day and I’ve got a dreadful feeling of joy and horror in my stomach. The joy is the obvious part, but why the horror? No, it’s not the Christmas shopping that scares the fecal matter out of me, nor the inevitable “do you really have to train on Christmas Day” comment from the wife. No, it’s much simpler than that, although maybe simple is the wrong word; Food. Such a simple word, such a complicated issue. In Norway we have a saying “without any oats the horses get weak”. As we all know, this principle applies just as much to us humans. We need fuel to perform. Why then, do we make food and eating into such a complex matter? I’m not going to lie to you, I’ve got just as much of a love/hate relationship to food as the next serious cyclist. At times I worry more about getting fat than a bride does the week before she is about to get married. It’s sad and a bit pathetic actually. The whole thing is completely imagined and a product of one’s subconscious mind. The development and progress of an athlete consists of 3 basic items: training, eating and resting. All too often do we make the mistake of only focusing on the training bit, although the real progress takes place during the resting and eating phases. Eating sounds so simple, just put food in your mouth. But it’s harder than that - eating has created problems, eating disorders. I pay close attention to what I eat, constantly. The food has to be healthy and rich in energy. Fruit, vegetables, whole wheat products, potatoes and fish makes up the core of my daily diet. A very successful athlete once told me “the more I can eat, the more I can train”. For a guy that tips the scales around 140-150lbs, I eat a lot. Huge amounts actually, but during my hardest weeks I also burn 5000-6000 calories a day or more. That energy must be replenished, with proper food. Why then, do I worry when I step on the scale in the morning? I know my weight will never climb much above my optimal race weight, year round. But still, I worry. I am working hard at the mental part of this, trying to get rid of this negative thinking. Negative thoughts are a waste of energy, athletes need to focus on positive things, always. In order to perform to the max, an athlete needs to have a healthy, relaxed relationship to his own body. It can be better to be 2 pounds “overweight” and feel good about oneself, rather than spending lots of energy on trying to lose weight. There is a direct link between the mental state of an athlete and his physical form and performance. We need to be in harmony, both physically and mentally. This is where most top athletes have room for improvement. Not to mention that the hard training requires adequate energy-reserves. If the energy is not there, the body will not be able to respond properly to the high training loads. Of course, don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying that trying to lose 5-7 lbs before the race-season starts is a bad thing, not at all. But many riders don’t eat enough, once the target weight has been reached, due to the fear of gaining weight again. This can directly, or indirectly, lead to injuries, illness, burn-out, over-training and a general lack of performance. Patience is very important when you want to lose those extra 5 lbs before the season. Start early and plan to lose small amounts of weight per month. Remember that restricting the caloric intake too much results in a lack of performance during training, simply because your body does not have the energy available to perform. And that does you no good, absolutely no good at all. So do like the horses, dig in and watch your performance increase. Oh, and pass on the cake, it’s over-rated anyways… If you keep telling yourself that, maybe some day you will believe it. Until then, be strong and ride hard. I am a full-time endurance athlete, working towards the 2012 London Olympics. I maintain a blog, describing my ups and downs of training / racing. http://roadrace1.blogspot.com Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Mags_M http://EzineArticles.com/?Food-and-Athletes&id=114882 eliminate credit card debt on mbna banks proven system to eliminate debt personal credit card debt elimination credit card debt elimination debt to total assets ratio

Aromatherapy - Unwind with the Powerful Sense of Smell!

By Shyrll Olson Aromatherapy what is it anyway? In the dictionary, Aroma means: an odor arising from spices, plants, etc., esp. an agreeable odor; fragrance. The definition of Therapy is: the treatment of a disease or other disorder, as by some remedial or curative process. So, I guess, in laymans terms Aromatherapy is as follows The treatment of a disease or disorder by the means of Fragrance! The treatment therefore using essential oils such as in massage therapy, where one gets the benefits of the essential oils through skin contact. You can also purchase Aromatherapy Mists to freshen the air around you or diffusers in which you place one or two drops of an essential oil onto, which then slowly releases the fragrance into the air. I love a massage, but I also like taking baths in products which contain essential oils. Along with soaking away muscle tension and body aches and pains, I also get the aromatherapy benefits of the essential oil fragrance being released into the moist air from the bath. My favorite products for aromatherapy come from Aura Cacia. The sense of smell is a powerful thing. Have you ever gotten a whiff of something and a past memory kicked into gear? How about sitting next to someone wearing the wrong perfume; you want to get away as fast as you can! When I sit down by a lake, the smell of the water has a very soothing affect on me. You say how can she smell water? I think it has something to do with the combination of the sand, the moisture in the air, and everything that makes up water. There is more to the beach that sitting in the sun which I dont do. I sit under an umbrella, read a good book, and enjoy the surrounding smells. However, I do not find enough time for this kind of relaxation!! This is where the art of Perfumery comes in. Looks like I may have to do some study on this; I can bring the smell of the beach to the perfume bottle. My findings on the art of Perfumery will be the topic of another article!! How does one get therapy from fragrance? Again, the sense of smell is powerful, and I thank God for creating wonderful things of fragrance that can sooth, uplift, comfort, relax, and yes even promote feelings of sensuality. I know the guys will want to hear about the fragrances that enhance the qualities that describe an aphrodisiac. You men are such ROMANTICS!! This is for the Men; these four exotic aromas deliver unique benefits, but also share one thing in common, they create an undeniably SENSUAL atmosphere. JASMINE sets a tranquil mood and helps restore vitality and anxiety related sexual problems, while ROSE promotes serenity and well-being. VANILLA calms, comforts, and promotes inner balance, and SANDALWOOD inspires confidence and promotes inner strength. In massage, Sandalwood is valued both as a sensuous fragrance and as a treatment for conditions related to stress. So guys if you want to set the MOOD, you may want to purchase your wife some bath and body products which contain one or more of these exotic fragrances, and the more pure the product the better! I love Aura Cacia because they deliver pure aromatherapy products in their body care line. The more pure the essential oil the better, and organic means no pesticides, and Aura Cacia guarantees their customers that their essential oils are 100% pure and unadulterated! Before I share the aromatherapy benefits to some of the oils and fragrances I know about, I thought I would explain the difference between Essential Oils and Fragrance Oils. Essential oils, absolutes and resins are volatile, fragrant materials extracted from a single botanical source, and if the oil is certified and organic this means no synthetic chemicals are used in growing or processing them. Fragrance Oils are generally blends of synthetic oils; they are formulated for aromatic purposes ONLY and are NOT for consumption. There are also Vegetable Oils such as sweet almond oil, grape seed oil, and jojoba, olive, and rosehip seed oils which are produced from nuts, seeds, grains, and beans. They are sometimes referred to as fixed oils because they are not volatile (Meaning easily evaporated) like essential oils. Vegetable oils make an excellent base in which to dilute essential oils for body care products. Aromatherapy products can turn your home into a private spa or maybe even a romantic hideaway! Lets start with LAVENDER. Lavender is probably my favorite fragrance and has very soothing properties. It is best known as being an herb for relaxation, but is used to relieve headaches as well. Research has shown that the fragrance of Lavender sends a calming message to the brain which counters adrenalin producing stress signals. Next we will take a look at MINT. Some mints boost circulation, some improve energy while building up resistance to fatigue, while others have a cleansing action and aid the respiratory system. For example; sniffing a drop of Peppermint or Spearmint oil increases cheerfulness, clarity, optimism, and the sense of being fully alive. These oils are also used in subtle aromatherapy to encourage emotional regeneration and positive change. Moving on to the Citrus Scents; for the most part this includes SWEET ORANGE, LEMON, GRAPEFRUIT, and LIME. The citrus fragrances are clean and crisp scents that will lift an individual from a depressed mood. The Citrus Scents are known for their calming influences for the person who needs to wind down from a stressful and busy day!! PATCHOULI is one of those scents that you either love it or hate it. This is my conclusion from listening to people talk about this particular fragrance. I happen to LOVE it, especially when combined with Sweet Orange Oil. Aromatherapists use it to help deal with stress related problems, including reduced libido, and to promote new skin cells in the treatment of wrinkles, open pores, acne, eczema, cracked skin, and fungal infections such as athletes foot. ROSEMARY is not only good when added to your favorite roast, but is wonderful when used as aromatherapy oil. Rosemary helps to reduce blood cholesterol levels and in massage oil eases tense, tired, and overworked muscles. CLARY SAGE is a very intense scent. It delivers an extremely high feel-good factor which can range from relaxing, mildly inebriating, or uplifting to an almost spiritual experience, and can result in vivid dreams. This fragrance is so relaxing the aromatherapists advise clients to avoid driving directly after a massage with it. It is considered aphrodisiac and counters stress and tension from physical and emotional sources including asthmatic spasms, muscle pain, swollen legs from standing all day, migraines, sexual problems and depression during convalescence. I myself enjoy a massage now and then. I have a friend who is a wonderful massage therapist and I trust her knowledge and expertise. When I have finished a massage session, I usually need to go home and lay down for about an hour. I feel totally wiped out this is a good thing. After I rest I feel quite rejuvenated. My therapist also reminds me to drink plenty of water after a session. This helps cleanse the toxins from your body after a massage. I believe that all the wonderful aromas out there to help reduce the tension plus exercise (which I am lacking in) and my faith in God, the Creator of all these wonderful fragrant gifts, is where TRUE stress release comes from. God tells us in His Scriptures to be anxious for nothing. We need to rely totally on God for our daily needs. worry often gives a small thing a big shadow. This is from What An Angel Might Say Perpetual Calendar. Aromatherapy benefits can be achieved through massage therapy using select essential oils, or by walking through an herb garden and gliding your hands over certain herbs such as Lavender, Rosemary, or Lemon Balm. I love the fragrance left on my hands after touching Lavender, the fragrance remains for some time. Who needs perfume when you can grow a little herb garden!! What You Never Knew About Traditional Irish Weddings

By Gregg Hall The distinctive traditions like Claddagh rings, superstitions, a special toast, as well as kilts and bagpipes make it really easy to distinguish an Irish wedding from the wedding celebrations of other countries. Let’s take a close look at some of these unique components in the Irish wedding. One of the most unique of all is the Claddagh ring, a traditional Irish ring made to resemble a pair of hands holding a heart with a crown. According to tradition, these rings must be passed down from mother to daughter and since they are intended to be passed down through many generations it is considered improper to purchase one of these rings on your own. There is also a tradition that states how the ring is supposed to be worn. If someone is engaged, the ring is to be worn with the tips of the crown facing outward towards the fingertips. Someone who is not romantically involved would wear the ring in the outward position, meaning that the tips of the crown are pointing to the wrist. Some of the other unique aspects of traditional Irish weddings are the strange superstitions that surround them. Although a rainy or overcast day is really unwanted at any wedding, it is even less desirable at an Irish celebration because according to tradition the sun must shine down on the bride so that the couple will be blessed with good luck. The Irish are very superstitious people; another sign of good luck for a new couple is the sound of a cuckoo or the sight of three magpies. When it comes to wishing the couple well and congratulating them it is bad luck for a female to be the first one to offer congratulations to the bride. This is why a relative or close friend of the Groom will always be sure that he is first. No celebration in Ireland would be the same without the sound of bagpipes and the presence of kilts. By tradition it is customary for the pipes to be played by family and friends of the couple as they walk into the church and also to the reception. In addition, these people who have brought their own bagpipes may also continue to play the pipes for dancing. It is a great opportunity for these individuals to dress in traditional kilts creating a truly distinctive occasion. Superstitions a play a large role in a traditional Irish wedding and many of the traditional superstitions relate to objects or occurrences that are thought to bring the couple good luck. These events are festive celebrations that involve family, friends, lots of food and great music. Gregg Hall is an author living in Navarre Florida. Keeping Kids Active This Summer

By Vanessa Pruitt Experts say that kids need 60 minutes or more of physical activity a day. With childhood obesity on the rise, It’s even more important to keep kids interested in sports. Keeping these tips in mind could help your children enjoy activity even more. Let them lead the way. Kids stay active when its fun for them, so try to keep it that way. Dont force them to do any activity that theyre not comfortable with. If your child would rather play tag than swim, do it. Youll both be moving, and having a great time. Mix it up a bit. Different sports are fun for different kids. Introducing your children to as many activities and sports as you can, will allow them to discover what they truly like. Dont keep score. Pushing kids to excel could lessen their interest in certain activities. Forget about the score, and let them invent their own goals. The true measure of a successful season for any child is whether they want to play next year. Remember to make sports a family affair. Your children will be more enthusiastic about physical activities if you lead by example. In the dog days of summer, try to devote an hour each evening to being active with your children. Turn off the television and have some quality fun! This article has been written by Vanessa Pruitt, a work from home mom promoting wellness. Reversing the Aging Process

By Nick Arrizza, M.D. Many scientists would say that we don’t know what is responsible for the aging process. Others might say that it is a normal part of the life cycle. I would like put forth a new and exciting observation here that may shed significant light on the causes of the aging process and on how it may potentially be not only stopped but reversed. What follows is based on anecdotal case study research that I have done and continue to undertake with a new tool I have developed called the Mind Resonance Process(TM)(MRP). Over the last 10 years I have been working with MRP to help individuals effectively dissolve negative limiting beliefs and emotions that they carry in their consciousness. Such beliefs and emotions are stored in the mind/body as a result of the learning and life experience of the particular individual. Now although some beliefs can be altered over time with new learning, most which result from repeated experiences become almost “hardwired” within the person. Such hardwiring implies that there is an actual physiological change that occurs in the physical body at many levels. It is this hardwiring “effect” that appears to be responsible for the aging process in my view. This idea has its roots in many observations I have made using MRP while helping inidviduals essentially “dissolve” these limiting beliefs and emotions from consciousness. The net result of such an endeavour has been the following: a great sense of renewed energy in the body, feelings of reinvigoration, a loss of weight, feelings of buoyancy, a youthful radiance emanating from the person and a reemergence of youthful characteristics. I explain the results above as follows. Any negative beliefs or emotions usually result from and are part of a larger life experience which often has some traumatic roots to it. In other words tramatic events in the form of stored traumatic memories. Now we don’t usually experience these memories in consciousness on a daily basis unless one has been severely traumatized, in which case they may experience a “flooding” of past memories into consciousness in the form of “flashbacks”. The reason most of our traumatic memories are “unconscious” i.e.. out of conscious awareness, is because some of our “vital life energy” is being used to keep them there. Without this process we would find ourselves constantly flooded by such memories and we would be so distracted by them in the moment that we wouldn’t be able to function adequately. In fact this is the case with individuals with severe or chronic trauma. As more and more of our vital life energy is used to hold these memories at bay the less there is to support the necessary physiological functions of our bodies. This leads to such things as a decrease in energy, states of depression (another term for a low energy state), decreased emotional and physical resilience to stress, increased vulnerability to physical deterioration i.e. illness and accelerated aging. Now with MRP there is a way of releasing these traumatic events which intrude on and are held in our consciousness thereby depleting us of the vital life energy that is meant to keep us youthful and vibrant. Such release appears to allow one to reclaim the held energy and to spontaneously redirect it to its proper function which is to repair and support the physical body. Current studies looking at markers for aging such as declining testosterone and DHEA levels in men are being undertaken to verify these observations. Dr. Nick Arrizza is trained in Chemical Engineering, Business Management & Leadership, Medicine and Psychiatry. He is a Key Note Speaker, Author, Stress Management Coach, Peak Performance Coach & Researcher, Specializes in Life and Executive Performance Coaching, is the Developer of a powerful new tool called the Mind Resonance Process(TM) that helps build phyiscal, emotional, mental and spirtual well being by helping to permanently release negative beliefs, emotions, perceptions and memories. 3 Key Steps to Radiant Beauty

By Danny Siegenthaler Beauty is so subjective, yet both men and women are constantly striving to achieve that ‘Body Beautiful’. This is promoted through the media, where we are constantly bombarded with images of beautiful men and women who, by implication, are successful because of their good looks. Beauty however, is much more than just skin deep and true beauty comes from within. There are simple steps, which anyone can follow to look and feel more beautiful. Beauty is much more about how you feel and project yourself, than it is about the size of your waist, number of lines on your face or darkness of your tan. It is about the projection of health, vigour and confidence. So how can you achieve this radiant beauty? Simple. There are 3 key steps you need to incorporate into your daily life to bring to the outside the beauty within. Step 1 - Diet Yes, it is an old clich, but you are what you eat. Your skin, eyes, weight, looks and even your emotional state are influenced by what you eat. Eat rubbish, and youll feel like rubbish, and that is what youll project to the people around you. This sounds hard, and many of you will not believe this to be true, but the fact is that if your diet does not consist of a well rounded, nutritionally balanced intake of good quality food, sooner or later your body will reflect this. So what is a well rounded, nutritionally balanced diet? Diets come in all shapes and sizes. Everyday we read or hear about another miracle diet that will loose us those extra kilos, make us look a million dollars and so on… Unfortunately, most of these diets do not work, at least not for the majority of people who try them. This is not always the fault of the diet, but often this is due to the fact that the celebrity who is promoting this diet has a completely different lifestyle to the one we have. They can afford to spend hours in the gym, have personal trainers and have the cash to buy the high quality foods, vitamins, herbs, etc. Another aspect is time pressure. Often it is a lack of time that prevents us from doing what we know we should be doing, but simply do not have the time to do. Or do we? According to the AC Nielsen Co., the average American watches more than 4 hours of TV each day! Now that is a lot of time that could be invested into more productive activities. So let’s look at what you should be eating. The first thing is, do not go on a diet. Yes, thats right, do not go on a diet. Rather look at what you are eating and make better choices. First, stop purchasing highly processed foods like TV dinners and the like, stop buying junk food during the day to have a quick lunch or even to substitute a sound breakfast. It does not take any longer to cut up a banana and add it to some natural yogurt together with some oats, nuts and grains, than it does to get into the queue at your local fast food outlet. The quality of food however is as different as day and night. The natural breakfast will provide you with much higher nutritional value than anything you can get from a fast food outlet. Secondly, when doing your shopping, focus on buying fresh fruits and vegetables, organic if you like, but thats not necessary. Focus on making meals rather than buying them already made. Ready made meals have preservatives and other additives you do not need and that may not be good for you. Stick to making the meals yourself. Take some of the TV time and invest it in your health. Thirdly, it is better for your body to eat small meals frequently rather than one large meal at night, as so many of us do. Remember that you do not need a lot of energy to sleep, but you do need energy to tackle your day-to-day activities. It is therefore best to eat the largest meal of the day in the morning and decreasingly large portions subsequently during the day. Use fresh fruits and nuts to provide you with healthy, quick little snakes that will sustain you during the day. Come dinner-time, make meals that are light and easy to digest. There are hundreds of books out there that will provide you with recipes that are easy to make, healthy and of high nutritional value. Finally, keep this in mind when preparing meals. Use small quantities of many foods. For example, try to exceed 15 different fruits and vegetables every day. This does not mean you need to eat 15 pieces of fruit/vegetables, but rather small portions of more than 15 wholesome foods. In a muesli for instance, use rolled oats, dried or fresh banana, apple, pears, berries, add different nuts such as almonds, pecans, hazel nuts, walnuts, add a handful of pine seeds, raw oats, raisins and sultanas. Then, when making your salad use lots of different vegetables, don’t be afraid to experiment. You see how easy it is to achieve variety of over 15 different foods in anyone day. In addition, don’t forget to have fish 2 or 3 times a week. Yes, it’s a change in the way you are used to doing things, but these sorts of changes are exactly what is needed if you want to achieve that body beautiful. Are you prepared to pay the price? If not, dont bother reading on. If yes, then there are some additional steps you can take to bring you closer to where you want to be. Step 2 - Exercise Err, I hear you say. Not that again. I dont have time to go to the gym… I hate going to the gym… Well, so do I, but exercise is the one thing that will keep your body fit and help you to achieve the physical well being. Dont go to the gym unless you feel comfortable in that environment and you like being there. There are equally good ways you can get exercise all the way through your day, without necessarily taking time out to go and do exercise. How? Easy. Park your car a block or two away from the office, shops, or where ever youre going and walk the extra distance. Youll probably find it easier to find a parking spot and that is reducing your stress levels already. At the office, walk over to a colleague instead of sending them an email or texting them. Take the stairs to walk up to your office. When it comes time for lunch, take it, go outside and take a little walk. At home, maybe you could go for a walk after dinner instead of watching the box or sitting in front of the computer. Not 3 hours, 30-40 minutes is all you need to help strengthen your cardio-vascular system. Your skin will look healthier, your body will feel healthier and guess what, youll actually start to look healthier too. This is all you need to do to get started. If you want to get fitter and maybe increase your muscle tone, you might want to re-think the gym idea, or some other form of exercise you enjoy. This is the key YOU MUST ENJOY THE EXERCISE other wise you will not continue to do it for very long and any little reason not to do it will be good enough. It may take you a bit of experimenting to find out what form of exercise you do like. Maybe its riding a bike, swimming, yoga, tai chi, bush walking or mountain climbing. Or maybe it is playing a sport such as tennis, squash, football or what ever. They key is to find something you like doing, that way it is no longer exercise its become a hobby. At this point there is another sub-key, if you like and this is the adequate intake of water. Our bodies require 2 litres of water each and every day to function normally. If the body does not get 2 litres of water, it will start to become de-hydrated. Dehydration is very subtle at times and may be not obvious to you, but you will start to get dry skin, possibly become constipated and the body will not like you for neglecting its needs. Sooner or later it will let you know one way or the other. So, dont tempt it, give it what it wants and make sure you consume at least 2 litres of water daily, more if you do physical work or exercise vigorously. Remember that water helps to flush out toxins from your body, which are better off out than in and you will feel better for it. Step 3 - Skin care Yes, skin care is important. Your skin is the defence between your external environment and the inside of your body. It performs a vital function in protecting you from harmful substances and microbes and it help in the elimination of toxins as well as in temperature regulation. A daily skin care regime is vital for a healthy, vibrant appearance and should be followed by men and women alike. I’ve covered this topic in detail in an other article, which is entitled Daily Skin Care Regime - Why is a Daily Skin Care Regime Important? however, let me reiterate the most important steps. The key steps in a daily skin care regime are: Cleansing, Toning and Moisturising. On a weekly basis you also need to include exfoliation and possibly using a deep cleansing clay mask to rid your skin of excessive dead skin cells and remove the deep seated dirt lodged in the pores of your skin. Make use of a natural skin care system, rather than using skin care products, which contain potentially harmful, synthetic chemicals. Many of these chemicals are absorbed by your skin and have been shown to have the potential to cause more harm than good. This comes back to using natural substances rather than highly processed ones. Apply this concept not just to the food you eat, but what you put on your skin as well. Hydrangea Forever & Ever Red

By Alan Summers The First Red Hydrangea that Blooms on New Growth! 2006 has had an incredible number of outstanding plant introductions and its only February. This week we are featuring yet another new plant sure to be a standout for years to come - Hydrangea Forever & Ever Red. A sport of the original Forever & Ever, this large mophead is the first red hydrangea that blooms on new growth! The brilliant red flowers top the burgundy stems and mature to wonderful shades of purple. The plant habit is compact, maturing to only 4 feet tall and wide. Repeat Blooms on a Compact Plant If you are a lover of the Endless Summer, this is a must have for your spring garden. Like it’s parent, the original Forever & Ever, Forever & Ever Red appears to have all of the qualities of the Endless Summer Hydrangea that gardeners have fallen in love with. It blooms repeatedly on both old and new wood, ensuring that your hydrangea will be covered in beautiful blooms throughout the season - proven reliably winter hardy to Zone 4 (minus 30 degrees) tested in Michigan. Also, Hydrangea Forever & Ever Red is reportedly unaffected by soil PH. The color should be red changing to purple in all soils. Being overly cautious, in really acid soils I suggest adding a couple of handfuls of lime when planting. From what we have seen and heard, Forever & Ever has many qualities that quite possibly may make it superior to Endless Summer (if that is possible!), including: Larger blossom clusters Larger individual florets with frilled petal edges More compact growth habit by, about a foot Waxy, leathery leaves Planting and Care For best results plant early Spring to late Summer Perform best in moist, but not wet, soil. Add Soil Moist if you think the soil is too dry Prefers an area with morning sun and afternoon shade Plant so the top of the root ball is a half-inch below the surface of the soil Mulch with two-three inches of organic mulch Use a handful of Bulb-Tone fertilizer at planting and again in late November and early March Can be cut back in Spring or Summer or die to the ground in Winter and still have many blooms the next season Remove the spent blooms as they fade and watch the plant continue to bloom all summer long Click here to view Hydrangea Forever & Ever Red on the Carroll Gardens website. Electrolysis Hair Removal

By Richard Romando Electrolysis hair removal is an effective technique to remove hair from the body. This procedure can be used to remove individual hair from almost all parts of the body including eyebrows, face, thighs, abdomen, breasts, and legs. Electrolysis hair removal was developed in 1869 by Charles Michel. Since then, many improvements have been made in this technique. Electrolysis hair removal can provide long term or permanent hair removal. In fact, Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and American Medical Association (AMA) have recognized electrolysis as the only permanent method of removing hair. Needle electrolysis is the most commonly practiced electrolysis hair removal procedure. Electronic tweezers and epilators are also used widely. In needle electrolysis, a fine needle is inserted into the hair follicle and a gentle electric shock is produced. This electric shock disables the hair root by heat or chemical action or by both. Electrolytic epilators use short-wave radio frequency to destroy hair growth centers. For total and permanent hair removal from a particular area, multiple electrolysis hair removal treatments are required. The total number of sessions needed may vary from person to person. These multiple sessions are carried out on a weekly, biweekly or monthly basis, depending upon the hair growth. Electrolysis hair removal is painful, but many modern methods have considerably reduced this pain. The use of topical anesthetics can also reduce pain. Electrolysis hair removal procedures are carried out by trained professionals called “electrologists” in clinics. Many states provide licenses to qualified electrologists. Electrolysis hair removal is usually a very safe procedure. Generally there are no permanent side effects. The most common side effect is the reddening of the skin during or immediately after treatment, which can last only for a short time. But if done improperly, this procedure can produce partial to full hair regrowth, causing skin damages and infections. Electrolysis hair removal is a time consuming process and each treatment lasts between 15 minutes and two hour. This procedure is also expensive - the cost varies from $25 to $100 per hour. Because of its high cost and time consuming nature, electrolysis isn’t recommended for larger areas like legs and chest.
